About The Position

Proof of the Pudding is an award-winning catering company throughout the Southeast with a commitment to creating quality culinary concepts from scratch. This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Food & Beverage Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, professional golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, & more. We are seeking a skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our corporate office and event spaces. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance, particularly in kitchen and event environments, and possess the ability to handle various repair tasks efficiently.

Requirements

  • Previous maintenance or technician experience preferred, especially in a kitchen or food-service environment.
  • Knowledge of general kitchen equipment operation; repair experience a plus.
  • Basic electrical and plumbing understanding required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform minor repairs independently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to work long hours during large events, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Ability to safely operate a forklift (certification a plus)
  • DOT certification required (may be obtained once employed).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily facility inspections to ensure maintenance meets company standards
  • Monitor waste management services and confirm scheduled pickups
  • Perform routine, preventive maintenance and basic repairs on kitchen equipment, including electric and propane appliances
  • Maintain and repair event furniture and props, including tables, chairs, bars, drywall, and furnishings
  • Troubleshoot and repair small appliances and heating equipment
  • Complete minor electrical, plumbing, and painting repairs as needed
  • Inspect equipment for safety, functionality, and compliance
  • Identify equipment needs, replacement parts, and repair priorities
  • Maintain clean grounds and ensure safe storage of tools and equipment
  • Document maintenance work, repairs, and equipment status
  • Respond promptly to urgent repair requests during work hours
  • Install shelving, whiteboards, artwork, and assemble furniture
  • Perform other duties as assigned
