About The Position

SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Facilities Management Foreman, performs a variety of duties including work orders, demolition, moving equipment, working with, as helpers, to tradesmen, replacement of light bulb, air filters, renovations, construction and grounds. Requirements

  • BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Completion of or equivalent to high school education.
  • Knowledge in the use of tools and some basic knowledge of the trades.
  • EXPERIENCE: Three years of general maintenance experience.
  • Must have good driving record, meet and maintain the appropriate and valid driver 's license in order to operate motor vehicles as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations, and in accordance with the Brown University Health Fleet Risk Control policy.

Responsibilities

  • Performs on and/or assist in maintenance inspections and preventive maintenance work throughout the hospital.
  • Assist on renovation projects, including demolition as well as new construction.
  • Perform in a limited capacity in at least one of the trades.
  • Performs various outside work on the grounds.
  • Provide coverage as needed for the driver as well as second shift personnel.
  • Work, as helpers, with the electrician, plumber/steamfitter, carpenter and painter as needed.
  • Maintain quality assurance, safety, environment and infection control in accordance with established hospital department policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Performs all duties in a safe and professional manner in accordance with established Bradley Hospital, Facilities Management department policy and the Fleet Risk Control policy and procedures.

  • Performs other related duties as required.
