About The Position

As the General Manager for the US, you will lead and scale World’s operations across the United States, one of our most strategically important and complex markets. You will be responsible for developing and executing the go-to-market strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and driving sustainable user growth. You will build and manage key relationships with operational partners, World ID partners, and other stakeholders. This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role: you will set the long-term vision for the US market while ensuring flawless execution on the ground. You will represent World publicly with the media and other relevant stakeholders. You will report to the VP of Market Operations and collaborate closely with other cross-functional teams. Your leadership will be instrumental in establishing World’s presence and reputation in the US and in shaping how the project scales globally.

Requirements

  • You have an excellent educational background. You have a BSc degree from a top-tier institution; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) a plus
  • You have 10+ years of relevant experience. You have proven success in scaling operations in the US.
  • You have 5+ years of management experience. You have experience building and leading operational teams.
  • You thrive in ambiguity. You enjoy working as part of a fast-moving, dynamic team, and you are willing to contribute wherever needed to make an impact.
  • You are a collaborative innovator. You love developing solutions to unconventional problems in collaboration with others.
  • You are a trailblazer. You have rolled out novel business models and first-of-a-kind products.
  • You are analytical. You enjoy working with data and you make data-driven decisions.

  • You are based in San Francisco and you are ready to travel across the US. You have extensive experience living and working nationwide, and you are able to spend 30-50% of your time on the road to drive growth in your region.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard and manage Operators and retail locations to rapidly scale our network of Orb operations to 1000s of locations across the US
  • Ensure high-quality operations and an excellent user experience
  • Manage and continuously improve flagship locations as examples of operational excellence
  • Experiment with new operating models and optimize for efficiency, scalability, and sustainability
  • Own the P&L.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs (on growth, costs, quality, and utility) to inform strategic decisions and resource allocation
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for the success of the US market
  • Build and manage relationships with large-scale operational partners to accelerate growth
  • Find and onboard local World ID and mini app partners to increase utility and real-world relevance for our users
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Economics to support seamless execution of new initiatives
  • Build up and lead a high-performing, mission-driven team spanning operations, business development, and community management
  • Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Foster cross-functional coordination across local and global teams to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing
  • Be the face of World in the US with our business partners and external stakeholders
  • Represent the company in public discussions to strengthen our presence and reputation in the US market
  • Collaborate with Legal and Policy teams to proactively engage with the relevant US regulatory frameworks.
