About The Position

The GM Warehouse Operations will provide leadership and supervision for all warehouse activities including receiving, storage, inventory, movement and shipping of products, materials, supplies and equipment. This individual will focus on providing excellent customer service and general support to the retail stores and the Store Support Center.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in General Business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
  • Five years of relevant experience required (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)
  • Proven track record of delivering results and streamlining operations
  • Experience with Profit & Loss metrics
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Warehouse Management System experience (Manhattan preferred)
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently, within a team across all levels and diverse cultures, and the ability to lead team projects
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Subject to National Security screening.

  • Industry experience in a warehouse or distribution center preferred

Responsibilities

  • Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, inventory management and control, and safety training
  • Determine space requirements and plan layout of warehouse considering turnover, size, weight, multiple SKU’s and related factors of items in storage
  • Work within a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets including payroll projections
  • Ensure proper record keeping of training and safety programs
  • Determine work procedures, create work schedules and expedite workflow
  • Maintain written warehouse process descriptions and flowcharts
  • Review warehouse records for accuracy
  • Provide leadership to the Warehouse Supervisors
  • Supervise staff to include selection and annual evaluation
  • Daily supervision of a 1Million+ square foot warehouse environment
  • Maintain clean, safe, efficient work environment meeting all safety standards (OSHA)
  • Conduct walk-throughs in the warehouse to ensure workers are following established warehouse processes and safety regulations (OSHA) and that equipment is kept clean and well maintained
  • Follow, communicate and serve as a role model for company policies, procedures and F&D organizational goals
  • Reinforce Company’s Mission, Vision and Values by fostering the delivery of high quality customer service
  • Other duties may be assigned as appropriate and in accordance with business needs
  • Store Support Center Associates Provide leadership and support training on all Safety programs, processes and procedures, insuring that every associate is properly trained for their position.
  • Follow established Safety procedures in all aspects of work assignments applicable to the position.
  • This includes participating in all Safety related training and acquiring certifications.
  • Each associate is responsible for Safety at the Store Support Center and when visiting other company work locations.
  • All Safety concerns must be brought to the attention of the management of a location and/or the Store Support Center Safety Department immediately.
