General Practice Resident (CIHS)
About The Position
The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a Clinical Instructor House Staff (CIHS) in the General Practice Residency (GPR) Training Program. This Clinical Instructor House Staff position is a full-time position intended to provide an expanded knowledge base in general dentistry and provide clinical care experience as part of the dental school graduate program. The GPR provides excellent, comprehensive treatment and offers general dentistry at the postdoctoral level including hospital -based dentistry, as well as treatment of medically compromised and special needs patients. The GPR program has 9 to 10 resident doctors who serve a 1 or 2 year appointment. Residents appointed to the Clinical Instructor House Staff position in the General Practice Residency resident training program provide care to patients under the supervision of an attending faculty member in accordance to the guidelines of the department and The Ohio State University Medical Center (OSUMC) GME office, pursue additional training and education in General Dentistry, and may participate in training of dental students.
Requirements
- D.D.S. or D.M.D.
- Graduation from an accredited dental school and eligible for post-graduate approved training
- Required to be eligible to obtain a training certificate
- Required to be American Heart Association certified in ACLS training.
- Must obtain an Ohio Dental License or Limited Resident’s License with the Ohio State Dental Board.
- Must be accepted into residency program through match process.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients under the supervision of an attending faculty member in accordance to the guidelines of the department and The Ohio State University Medical Center (OSUMC) GME office
- Pursue additional training and education in General Dentistry
- Participate in training of dental students.
