About The Position

You will be the Geospatial Systems Engineer for the Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) Geospatial Technology team. Our team designs, develops, and delivers cutting edge geospatial software and workflows that turn massive data sets into actionable intelligence for missile and fire control programs. As the Geospatial Systems Engineer you will own end to end development of geospatial applications, collaborate with cross functional engineers and customers, and influence the product roadmap. You’ll work remotely while staying tightly integrated with multi site MFC teams. Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Geography, Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or related Geo-Science or Engineering field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of geospatial experience
  • Experience running/developing workflows for Lockheed Martin’s Rosetta3D/OpenRosetta3D Geospatial Processing Engine
  • Experience with deployment of Lockheed Martin's Rosetta 3D/OpenRosetta3D software.
  • Experience with developing full-feature OGC CDB generation and management tools for SOCOM Federated Co-Production and NGA Foundation GEOINT production.
  • Experience working directly with the Army Geospatial Planning Cells (GPC's).
  • Active TS clearance required

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive data production, formatting and manipulation experience with Digital Elevation Models, Satellite Imagery, Point Clouds and Derived Datasets (Vector/Raster, PCs and 3D Meshs) used in large scale
  • Exposure to formats: ntf, tif, laz, heif, copc, xml, cog,shp, gpkg, json, jp2k, pbr, rpb
  • Experience with Geospatial software products: Global Mapper, QGIS, ENVI, ERDAS, ESRI, etc.
  • Experience with Geospatial Libraries: GDAL/OGR, GEOS, PROJ, numpy, fiona, shapely, pandas, etc
  • Works effectively within a team with minimal direction
  • Enjoys a high tempo environment and is motivated.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work remotely and unsupervised

Responsibilities

  • Lead integration of MFC geospatial software across multiple teams, sites, and platforms.
  • Design, develop, test, and optimize large scale geospatial workflows on high performance computing (HPC) systems.
  • Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and roadmap features.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities and propose new product concepts.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with security, quality, and performance standards.
  • Work alongside Capture and Business Development to identify new opportunities and develop customer relationships.
