Your Opportunity As an Intern/Co-op, you will work with Professional Civil and Geotechnical Engineers in a team environment on various transportation, dam, power, and/or water infrastructure projects. Candidates should be highly motivated and dependable students who are taking or have taken civil or geological engineering courses. This is a terrific opportunity for a college student to support a number of exciting local and national projects.
Requirements
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction
- Willingness to learn
- In progress toward earning a Bachelor's degree (minimum) in civil engineering, geological engineering, or related field
- Specific coursework or exposure to one or more of the following: Planning, design, soil mechanics, rock mechanics, foundations, construction of infrastructure, and construction management
Responsibilities
- Assisting in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports
- Assisting technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data, preparing reports, and performing calculations for design projects
- Gaining exposure and performing basic tasks in AutoCAD Civil3D, GeoStudio, OpenGround, and other design programs
- Performing construction observations and assisting with field work, as needed
- Completing other engineering/administrative duties as required
