SUMMARY Responsible to assist with the successful administration and execution of Grand Casino Retail Shops to achieve objective regarding revenue/profitability and identify opportunities to increase effectiveness. Promoting excellent standards for guest service and satisfaction.

Requirements

High School Diploma or ability to pass our Basic Skills Assessment.
Minimum of two (2) years related experience in retail or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Or, successful completion of a related company approved development placement program.

Delivering guest service that is more immersive, customized and responsible to changing expectations.

Responsibilities

Maintains appropriate staffing levels in the Gift Shops, by assisting with interviews, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, promoting, disciplining and terminating Associates as needed.
Promote guest service related assistance in the Gift Shops, such as assisting guests with selection and or purchases, handling exchanges, redeeming complimentary and giving directions to various areas of the property.
Oversees monthly inventory of the Gift Shops Merchandise.
Completes Gift Shops schedules for all shifts to ensure proper coverage with approval from the Gift Shop Manager.
Meets with prospective vendors and make recommendations to the Gift Shop Manager.
Documents in associate’s calendars all information necessary to complete yearly performance appraisals this includes absence, tardiness, secret shoppers, comment cards, extra duties completed and all other necessary information.
Ensures the work areas are neat, clean and well stocked with supplies.
Creatively resolves issues with guests and associates, including complaints and inquires.
Maintains appropriate stock and merchandise ordering with approval from Gift Shop Manager.
Facilitates the flow of information throughout the Gift Shops, by participating in regularly scheduled meetings.
Inspects merchandise to ensure it is priced correctly and displayed to its best advantage.
Held accountable, to high degree, for accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
Assist Gift Shop clerks with tasks which they are having difficulty completing.
Installs and removes cash register receipt and audits cash reports.
Operates the cash register, to accept payment for retail sales, in the form of cash, credit, gift cards and complimentary, making correct change as required and balancing cash register, at closing of end of shift.
Maintains a working knowledge of Grand Casino facilities, specials and upcoming events on property, in order to advise Guest of same, whenever possible.
Exercises teamwork throughout shift.
Audits all Gift Shops items that are logged for accuracy.
Other duties as assigned.
