About The Position

In this role, you will support the Transformer Insulation and Components (PGTR / GPG Insulation & Components) business by guiding the performance, consistency, and advancement of electrical insulation manufacturing across our global footprint. You will collaborate with factories worldwide that produce board and paper insulation for transformers, helping them strengthen safety, quality, sustainability, and operational consistency. Your work will involve partnering with teams across diverse cultures and facilities, supporting manufacturing projects, optimizing processes, developing global standards, and enabling modernization through automation and digitalization. You will also grow your own expertise as you help global teams build theirs, sharing knowledge through structured training and hands‑on collaboration that contributes directly to the reliability and sustainability of the world’s power grid.

Requirements

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in operations within the pulp and paper industry, preferably including electrical board production.
  • Background in process‑related functions, contributing to stable, high‑quality manufacturing outcomes.
  • Skilled in industrial automation practices and improvement of automated processes.
  • Solid problem‑solving abilities, with a motivated, change‑oriented approach to process enhancement.
  • Experience working with international teams across different cultures and geographies.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, with excellent communication skills.
  • University degree.

Responsibilities

  • Support factories globally in electrical insulation manufacturing by guiding process, method, and equipment‑related improvements.
  • Steer continuous improvement efforts to enhance manufacturing performance, asset utilization, and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate activities related to equipment purchases, upgrades, and relocations to ensure alignment with operational and quality standards.
  • Help address urgent equipment or process challenges by offering timely expert support.
  • Develop, update, and standardize production‑related documentation including standards, inspection cards, manuals, and training materials.
  • Champion the digitalization and automation of operations within your area of responsibility.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with global suppliers in collaboration with category and quality teams.
  • Promote consistency and harmonization of processes and equipment across global insulation manufacturing operations.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
