The Role We are seeking a Global Payroll Specialist to join our growing Finance & Accounting team at Thornton Tomasetti. As the Global Payroll Specialist, you will support the execution and administration of the company’s domestic and international payroll operations and assist in the implementation of new global payroll software. This is an exciting opportunity for a payroll professional who wants not just hands-on experience in both U.S. and international payrolls, but also to assist in process improvements, enhance operational efficiencies, and help shape scalable payroll practices that support a dynamic, global organization. You will support the Global Payroll Manager and collaborate closely with HR, business leadership, and external vendors.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in international payroll/compliance.
  • Flexible international working approach across time zones
  • ADP payroll system experience required.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to global payroll system implementations a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the processing of monthly international payrolls with local administrators and ensure compliance and accurate reporting with local vendors.
  • Coordinate our Canda, UK, Italy, India, Vietnam, and Australia payrolls
  • Partner with HR to ensure accurate payroll and accruals for employee leaves of absence and support operational improvements.
  • Assist with the implementation of new global payroll software and partner with local payroll administrators and vendors to resolve issues, complete registrations, and ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Review and validate HRIS (Workday)-to-payroll integration files for employee updates and ensure all errors are resolved prior to payroll processing deadlines.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining documentation for domestic and international payroll processes.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and international wage regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assist with bi-weekly U.S. multi-state payroll as needed.
