Where the Chemistry Happens
This global position is responsible for product life-cycle management of BASF Cosmetic Effect Pigments business, including development and implementation of Product Line strategies in alignment with the Global Business Management for Cosmetic Effect Pigments.The operational management of the product line comprises driving margin management, portfolio harmonization initiatives and pricing. The position manages profitability optimization through active involvement in the operative Sales & Operations Planning process and inventory management topics. It works closely with quality, product stewardship and regulatory departments to ensure product compliance. The development of commercial concepts for value maximization and driving business decisions across all regions and functions involved in managing KPIs for the pigments range are part of the daily responsibility of the role.

Formula for Success: You Will
·Implement the global product line targets and tasks.
·Own Product life cycle management, including: compliance, product specifications, margin management, and production cost target setting.
·Own operational management of selected product lines: Setting Global Base Prices, which includes responsibility for regional supply quotas for products on shortage; working capital management (monitoring inventories); product launch and phase-out processes.
·Lead asset profitability by establishing mid to long-term sourcing strategies; capacity optimization of internal assets to ensure supply; and competitiveness during product life cycle. Contribute to siting decisions.
·Lead competitive intelligence through competition analysis and commercial benchmarking.
·Be the Commercial Interface in Production weekly meetings: Translating business needs into production and supply chain requirements; aligning market requirements and internal capabilities.
·Lead Innovation by identifying innovation needs and support the innovation process from Stage Gate 2 onwards, including commercial launch of the product and subsequent monitoring of sales after launch.
·Lead Strategy by participating in the development of individual Product Line strategies (derived from BASF's Pigment strategy); identifying market trends to define asset, portfolio and quality requirements.
·Act as System Administration and Gatekeeper for individual product creation and deletion, data consistency (e.g. COBUS reporting).

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You...
·Bachelors degree in Business, Chemistry or related field, MBA is a plus
·Background in Chemical/Technical field with 7 years of Product Management, Supply Chain or similar experience ormulti-year experience in commercial area with operational responsibility
·Experience in Sales and/or Marketing, preferably linked to the cosmetics industry is desired
·Effect Pigment experience desired
·Excellent communication skills
·Methodical, strong project management skills, commercial orientation, decisive, goal-oriented
·Ability to travel 25-35% both domestic and international
·Competencies: Strategic thinking, Customer Focus, Organization Awareness, Influencing and Impact, Entrepreneurship. Communication and interpersonal understanding.
