As a result, unlike many other OEM or supplier organizations, Garrett Advancing Motion has visibility across a broad range of OEM’s and Tier 1 suppliers. We are seeking a Global Vendor Planner to join our team in Plymouth, MI. The Global Vendor Planner will work on ensuring seamless logistics and planning activities, acting as point of contact between cross functions and stakeholders, ensuring materials are well scheduled, evaluated and accurately delivered on time, every time. They will also cover customer demand, to solve escalations and achieve metrics, and help with improving processes and drive inventory targets.

Requirements

  • University degree in engineering or economics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience with MRP, SAP (MM) or ERP systems.
  • Minimum 3 years supply chain experience - supply planning, production planning, SIOP.

Responsibilities

  • Supply Planning
  • Responsible for Supplier Weekly planning process on the specific suppliers portfolio;
  • Responsible for suppliers delivery follow up (ASN, short shipment, over deliveries, recovery plan).
  • Responsible for E2E supplier planning activities for full planning horizontal, covering CTB 
  • Support for all plants on components planning & execution for assigned suppliers portfolio.
  • Creation of COPQ and work with Supply base to recover the cost.
  • Maintain the planning parameters in accordance with global replenishment rules, plant and inventory strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvements on planning process in order to keep in target inventory.
  • Coordinate with team analyzing RCCP short/mid term on monthly basis checking if supplier capacity is in line with actual shipments from suppliers.
  • Support VE and RE initiatives, PIPO, transition and last time buy projects with Supply Base department.
  • Support NPI projects - checking on weekly basis new parts schedules and pipelines.
  • Supplier Crisis Management
  • Escalate any supplier issue to the next levels according to escalation matrix, prepare escalation files and follows action plans in order to solve the issue and to reduce the impact.
  • Lead within the SC the supplier crisis management - red alerts creation / follow up
  • Work with the plants in order to avoid Premium Freight cost.
  • Visit suppliers on monthly / quarterly basis or as part of taskforce in case of supplier crisis.
  • Support/escalate supplier issue resolution.
  • Supplier Development
  • Support supplier logistic development in the region and support negotiating and signing logistic protocols with suppliers.
  • Follow and drive actions to improve Supplier OTTR metric (including OPD approvals/rejections) of suppliers portfolio.
  • Support the supplier SIOP implementation and deployment.
  • Offer input for the supplier scorecard, weekly updates and follow up.
  • Health, Security, Environment
  • Perform the activity in accordance with own experience, knowledge and work instructions of the role, in a specific manner in which no person is exposed to accidents or professional illnesses.
  • Immediately inform the manager about any work situation which has reason to consider it a threat to the safety and health of workers, as well as any deficiency of protection systems.
  • Inform the manager about the accidents suffered at work.
  • Cooperate, as long as it is necessary, with the employer and/or with the assigned workers, to enable the employer to ensure that the work environment and the working conditions are safe and without risks for their safety and health, in its field of activity.
  • GEM
  • Employee must respect, follow and support implementation of all GEM standards ( 6 Mains GEM Elements : 5S, Kaizen, RPS, Standard Work, TPM, 7 Waste + BIQ a Visual Management).
  • Support and actively use digitization tools and automatic reporting.
  • Participate on continuous process improvement through Kaizen, KE and TKE (Improvement ideas).
