About The Position

Hermeus is a high-speed aircraft manufacturer focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft for the national interest. Working directly with the Department of Defense, Hermeus delivers capabilities that will ensure that our nation, and our allies, maintain an asymmetric advantage over any and all potential adversaries. As a GNC Engineering Intern, you will support the development of guidance, navigation, and control systems for uncrewed high-speed aircraft. This role focuses heavily on controls development, algorithm implementation, and testing. Summer: Around 10 weeks (May - August) Fall: Around 16 weeks (September - December)

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong background in controls, dynamics, and feedback systems
  • Experience with control system modeling and simulation
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or similar tools used for controls development
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles
  • Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • GPA of 3.0 or above

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, implementation, and testing of guidance and control algorithms for uncrewed high-speed aircraft
  • Assist in developing and tuning control laws for flight vehicle stability and performance
  • Implement and validate control algorithms in simulation and test environments
  • Support analysis of test data and help refine control system performance
