We proudly offer three championship golf courses, available for play nearly every day of the year, along with award-winning practice facilities both indoors and outdoors. Our sports and leisure complex boasts impressive state-of-the-art aquatic facilities enjoyed by individuals of all ages, as well as tennis, paddle sports, fitness options, and The Cove, a mini club designed for children. Our elegant manor-style clubhouse features both casual and fine dining options, along with the finest banquet facilities in the area for galas, weddings, and social gatherings. We are looking for a Golf Course Foreman to join the Fiddler’s Family and share their passion for hospitality with our members, guests, and fellow staff members. Fiddler’s Elbow hosts a wide range of events from comedy shows and concerts to Fourth of July celebrations and New Year’s Eve festivities, our annual FiddleFest Music and Food Festival, Member White-Out Party, golf outings and sporting events. We also host smaller clubs within the Club, such as our beloved Book Club and Cigar Club. Our members host many private events like weddings, social events, and celebrations of life milestones. The Golf Course Foreman assists in the daily management and supervision of the golf course maintenance team to ensure the highest standards of course conditions. This role combines hands-on turf aintenance with crew leadership, project coordination, irrigation support, and equipment operation. The ideal candidate is a motivated leader with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the bility to lead by example in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in golf course maintenance or turf management preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and maintenance machinery.
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems and turf watering practices is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required in golf course operations

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead daily work assignments for golf course maintenance staff.
  • Provide clear direction, support, and motivation to team members.
  • Promote a positive, professional work environment and maintain strong team morale.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the club’s high standards.
  • Assist with planning and executing golf course improvement projects such as drainage, bunker renovations, landscaping, and course construction tasks.
  • Coordinate labor and equipment needs for special projects.
  • Monitor progress and maintain quality control throughout project work.
  • Assist in monitoring and adjusting irrigation systems to ensure proper turf health.
  • Conduct hand watering during dry conditions.
  • Identify irrigation issues and report or assist with repairs when needed.
  • Safely operate a variety of golf course maintenance equipment including mowers, tractors, loaders, and other heavy machinery.
  • Train staff on safe and proper operation of equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is used properly and report maintenance needs when necessary.
  • Train new and seasonal staff on proper maintenance techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
  • Reinforce best practices in turf management and daily maintenance routines.
  • Mentor crew members and encourage professional development.
