About The Position

Deliver high quality recreation services for residents, visitors and the St. Charles community by adhering to the District’s safety and administrative policies and procedures. Knowledge, Skills & Experience This position is well suited for someone with a friendly and positive personality who is productive and shows initiative, is an effective written and oral communicator, is reliable and safety-minded.

Requirements

Must be 18 years old to operate equipment, 16 years old to work with groundskeeping.
Must be reliable and show initiative, tact, and productivity.
Must be able to learn the proper use of hand tools, grounds equipment and operation of all riding equipment.
A valid State driver’s license is necessary.
Maintain DCFS mandated reporter certificate or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

High School graduate or equivalent a plus.

Responsibilities

Under the direction and supervision of the Golf Course Manager, and the Golf Course Superintendent, the Golf Course Grounds Maintenance Associate shall complete all assigned duties to the best of their abilities, offering suggestions of better ways to accomplish jobs and be ever mindful of the best interests of the St. Charles Park District and of fellow employees.
Be willing to learn proper golf course etiquette.
Be willing to work over and above required daily hours when necessary.
Be able to operate equipment as needed or required.
Be able to work cooperatively and harmoniously with the general public, as well as fellow employees.
Be able to follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of the Park District’s safety program.
Be on time.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Assist with special events.
