About The Position

The Golf Course Superintendent serves as the senior leader responsible for strategic oversight, maintenance, and agronomic performance at the Coyote Ridge Golf Course. This position directs all turf management, irrigation systems, environmental compliance, equipment operations, and grounds staff development. The Superintendent ensures the course consistently delivers high-quality playing conditions while operating within budget and maintaining compliance with all applicable rules and regulations. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, regulatory knowledge, and a commitment to environmental stewardship and operational excellence

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in turf management, agronomy, horticulture, or related field, AND at least five (5) years of progressively responsible golf course maintenance experience at an 18-hole golf course, three (3) years of which must be at the supervisory level; OR,
  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible golf course maintenance experience at an 18-hole golf course, three (3) years of which must be at the supervisory level
  • Must possess or be actively pursuing a Certified Golf Course Superintendent designation
  • Office of Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety training or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of turf management practices and irrigation systems
  • Washington State Pesticide Applicator License required or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
  • Demonstrated leadership and staff management experience
  • Experience with equipment lifecycle planning and capital improvement projects
  • Ability to manage budgets and control departmental expenses
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required
  • Must successfully clear extensive criminal history, financial, employment, and reference checks for suitability
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the company’s vehicle insurance coverage

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and oversee all golf course maintenance operations
  • Develop and implement agronomic programs including irrigation, fertilization, aeration, and pest management
  • Manage water usage and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and water management guidelines
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems and equipment
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate grounds maintenance staff
  • Develop work schedules and assign daily tasks to maintenance personnel
  • Maintain compliance documentation related to pesticide use, equipment operation, and environmental standards
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, including labor, materials, and capital improvements
  • Monitor course conditions and implement corrective actions to maintain quality playing surfaces
  • Collaborate with management on long-term course improvements and capital projects
  • Promote and enforce safety standards across all maintenance operations
