Golf Course Technician
About The Position
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Supervise Golf Course Grounds personnel. Apply fertilizers, plant protectants and plant growth regulators on Golf Course properties. Read, understand and keep current with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDs). Compile reports of pesticide and fertilizer usage. Calibrate sprayers and fertilizer spreaders. Perform routine safety inspections on all spreader and spraying equipment. Assist with operation of Toro LTC+ irrigation system. Participate in daily scouting of Golf Course for disease and/or irrigation problems, and report issues to Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent. Perform irrigation repairs and adjustments. Oversee completion and quality of work assigned to crew members. Assist with ensuring safe working conditions. Participate in all aspects of Golf Course maintenance. During off season, assist mechanic with repairs, painting and other applicable duties. Run operations in absence of Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent as requested. Assist with PGA and MGA sponsored tournaments. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. QualificationsEXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 3 years of golf course experience. Valid Minnesota drivers license. (Applicants with an out-of-state license must obtain a Minnesota license within 30 days of hire.) Minnesota Pesticide Applicator license, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Turf Grass college degree or equivalent preferred (not required). SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong supervisory skills. Knowledge of maintenance of golf course greens, tees and fairways. Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds and landscaped area maintenance. Knowledge of agronomy. Knowledge of the rules of golf. Basic understanding of electricity and hydraulics as related to irrigation systems. Basic mechanical knowledge. Detail-oriented. UNIVERSAL REQUIREMENTS Sensitivity to various cultures, including Native American cultures. Regular attendance and punctuality. Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required. Serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel, and encourage others to do the same. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Mobility throughout the facility. Able to drive a vehicle. Able to lift up to 70 pounds. Requirements
