About The Position

The Golf Grounds Supervisor is a hands-on working leader who supports both the Golf Course Superintendent and Facility Manager. This role supervises grounds/maintenance staff, ensures top-quality conditions across the par 3, practice greens, golf range, and mini golf, and takes ownership of repairs, maintenance, and special projects across the entire property. Ideal candidates bring turf/grass familiarity and excel with mechanical/machinery. A strong candidate can diagnose issues, fix equipment, and keep the property running safely and smoothly. This position reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and the Facility Manager. The Golf Course Supervisor is a management role. They supervise grounds crew and maintenance staff as assigned and lead the team when the Superintendent and Manager are not present.

Requirements

  • Familiarity/experience with turf/grounds care ( experience in golf course maintenance preferred ).
  • Basic working knowledge of facility systems (e.g., HVAC basics, plumbing, painting, construction).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with machinery/repairs is a plus!
  • Snow plowing, Bobcat/skid steer operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Turf & Grounds (Par 3, Practice Greens, Golf Range) Assist in maintaining excellent playing conditions on the par 3, practice greens, and golf range in line with Superintendent standards and budget.
  • Support seasonal turf tasks (mowing, trimming, topdressing, aeration assistance, irrigation checks).
  • Keep the golf range operational year-round, including snow removal to maintain access and safe footing.
  • Mini Golf & Activity Areas Assist in maintaining two outdoor and one indoor miniature golf courses to Facility Manger’s standards; repair damage and fix malfunctions promptly.
  • Assist in maintenance and repair of non-golf activity areas (e.g., batting cages) to ensure safety and quality for guests.
  • Mechanical, Equipment & Shop Diagnose, maintain, and repair small engines and mechanical systems (e.g., mowers, pumps, motors, trucks, batting cages, and remote-control attractions).
  • Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues using manuals or expert guidance as needed.
  • Apply sound judgement on repairs; consult manufacturer reps or vendors when necessary.
  • Facility Maintenance & Repairs Perform basic facility work: plumbing, HVAC (basic), painting, and general construction/repair.
  • Tackle special projects that keep the property guest-ready and safe.
  • Leadership & Project Management Collaboarate with managers to lead day-to-day project work: plan, prioritize, delegate, and follow up.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate grounds/maintenance team members; model high standards.
  • Communicate clearly with both managers and team members; maintain a safe, positive, and productive workplace.
  • Safety & Standards Uphold safety protocols for equipment, electrical, and facility operations.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas; ensure tools and equipment are in safe working order.
