The Legacy Golf Course Maintenance team is looking for Rough Mowers for the 2026 Summer Season! This early-morning job is perfect for veterans, retirees, or anyone looking to get on the golf course! Job Purpose: The rough mower is responsible for mowing and maintaining the golf course rough grass to established standards of quality, consistency, and playability. This position requires safe operation of specialized turf equipment, attention to detail, and coordination with the golf course superintendent and maintenance team to ensure optimal turf conditions. The role emphasizes precision mowing, minimizing turf damage, and maintaining a clean, professional appearance of all assigned areas. Operate rough mower equipment safely and efficiently to maintain consistent turf height and quality. Mow rough according to the daily schedule and mowing patterns established by the golf course superintendent Ensure clean cut quality, proper overlap, and minimal turf damage (no whip turns) during all mowing operations. Slow down over sprinkler heads, valves, and drains during the operation of equipment. Inspect equipment before, during, and after use; report mechanical issues, cut issues, leaks, or safety concerns promptly. Pay attention to cuts, odd noises, vibrations, and leaks on the turf. If problems occur, pull off to the non-play side of the hole and call the mechanic immediately. Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of mowing equipment after each use. Fuel mower at the end of the day, ensuring the gas cap is on tight. Follow all safety procedures, including awareness of golfers, other equipment, and course conditions. Maintain a professional appearance of rough by avoiding scalping, detailed clean-up passes, and correcting missed areas.
