Government Relations Intern - Space & Defense
About The Position
Velos is seeking part- or full-time government relations interns to join our team for the Summer semester. Interns provide support across clients to aid execution of influence campaigns furthering the client's government relations and business development objectives. Velos represents leaders in the Defense, Space & Intelligence, Homeland Security, and related industries. This position is located at our office in Crystal City (Arlington, VA). The government relations team is small and dedicated to each other and the work of our clients. We are in the business of influencing decision makers to make the right decision for our clients and the nation. If you are creative, curious, smart, and solution-oriented, you should join our team. Requirements
- Upperclassman or Graduate student
- Interest or experience in defense or national security space
- Interest or experience in federal appropriations & legislative process
- Must be eligible to obtain a US government security clearance
- Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Conduct budget & legislative research
- Attend and summarize congressional hearings & industry events
- Monitor & curate industry news for weekly e-newsletter
- Support development of issue papers, talking points, presentations, quantitative analyses, and other client materials
- Other tasks as assigned
