About The Position

Feeding Tampa Bay is seeking a detail-oriented professional with a passion for persuasive writing and precise data management to join our team as a Grants Coordinator. This is a crucial, project-based role focused on securing funding to support our mission-critical programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer, a meticulous researcher, and will possess a strong understanding of the grant application process. This role is perfect for a self-starter who can work independently and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.

Requirements

  • Excel working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and demonstrate the ability to embrace the FTB’s commitment to treat all people with equity and respect in pursuit of our mission to feed people in need and mobilize our community to eliminate hunger
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, communications, public administration)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in grant writing and management, preferably in a nonprofit setting
  • Proven track record of securing significant grant funding
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in grant management software, Salesforce, and Google Suite
  • Familiarity with funder databases and research tools
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for the mission and values of the organization
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule with a minimum 3 days in the office per week
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required
  • Some travel may be necessary to meet with funders or attend conferences
  • Schedule must be flexible with the ability to work some nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Grant Research: Identify and research potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with the organization's mission and funding needs.
  • Proposal Writing: Develop, write, and submit compelling and persuasive grant proposals, applications, and letters of inquiry. This includes crafting narratives, compiling necessary attachments, and ensuring all submission requirements are met.
  • Grant Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports to funders on the use of grant funds and the outcomes of funded projects.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the [Program Directors, Grants Staff Accountant, etc.] to gather data, success stories, and program details required for grant applications and reports.
  • Database Management: Maintain and update a grants calendar, Salesforce, Asana, and Instrumentl for funding opportunities, submissions, and deliverables deadlines.
  • Compliance: Ensure all grant applications and reports comply with funder guidelines and legal requirements.
  • Relationship Building: Assist in the cultivation and stewardship of relationships with new and existing funders.
