About The Position

Lines for Life is seeking to hire a Grants Manager to join our dynamic and successful development team. We are looking for a person with grant writing experience, excellent communication, organizational, and grant administration skills to help secure and manage the funding necessary to carry out Lines for Life’s mission of preventing substance abuse and suicide and promoting mental wellness for all. The Grants Manager will be responsible for project managing all of Lines for Life’s public and private grants, ensuring compliance with proposal and reporting requirements. The Grants Manager will focus funding requests on areas of greatest need, specifically YouthLine, Prevention, and Equity & Cultural Engagement programs. Additionally, this position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining systems to track all grants and will facilitate meetings and communications with key stakeholders on Monday.com.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and trainings in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in non-profit development.
  • Three years’ experience in grant writing and familiarity with Development work.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, donor database management experience, and internet research skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly attentive to detail; able to organize and prioritize work amid competing deadlines.
  • Ability to present information, including grant outcomes and deliverables, concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.

Nice To Haves

  • At least three years of experience in grant writing.
  • Experience in the Development field in the Pacific Northwest and/or the behavioral healthcare field.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Excel
  • Familiarity with local, state, and Federal grant programs.

Responsibilities

  • Research and recommend funding opportunities that fit Lines for Life’s mission and programs, with strategic direction from the Development Director and Leadership Team.
  • Manage and lead grant proposal submissions by coordinating with program teams, developing and managing timelines, managing task assignments, and completing submissions.
  • Draft grant submissions, with program team support, including programmatic information and feedback from stakeholders from other departments, and aligning drafts with departmental strategy and proposal requirements; package and submit proposals.
  • Organize and lead regular grant meetings to review and evaluate upcoming opportunities and discuss deadlines, action items, and delegate roles for current and prospective grants.
  • Represent the organization at funder Request for Proposal (RFP) meetings, pre-proposal conferences, grant webinars, etc.
  • Track the submission of grants (e.g. drafting, pending, submitted, awarded, denied) and grant reporting, reconciling information with the Finance department
  • Ensure timely compliance with all grant reporting requirements in collaboration with programmatic departments.
  • Solicit feedback from funders on positioning new requests and debrief if applications are denied.
  • Attend grant funder site visits and interviews with programming teams as directed by the Development Director.
  • Detail and maintain all grant information in a tracking system, including: prospects; details of last application; applications in process, pending response, and required reports; SalesForce details, and deadlines for all submissions.
  • Collaborate with Chief Financial Officer, Finance team, and department directors to develop and update project budgets for grant applications and reports.
  • Collaborate with the Contracts Manager, as appropriate, for funding opportunities and management.
  • Reconcile grant and unrestricted income with the Finance office on a monthly basis using Salesforce reporting.
  • Prepare financial reports of all previous, current, and forecasted grant income for presentation to Lines for Life Leadership and Board of Directors upon request.
  • Provide support to the fun and dynamic Development team with fundraising events coordination, if needed.
  • Demonstrate the culture of Lines for Life by modeling behavior that supports the goals and philosophies of Lines for Life
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
