Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or experience equivalency
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Computer experience must include general word processing and website research

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of experience in general fundraising, grant writing, prospect research, or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Research Conducts ongoing research to identify and prioritize local, regional, national, state, and federal grant opportunities aligned with Mentoring Alliance’s mission, including TEA, OJJDP, and school voucher-related funding sources; analyzes funder priorities, identifies connections through board and partners to secure invitations to apply, and gathers relevant data to strengthen funding proposals.
  • Grant Writing and Reporting Leads grant writing and reporting efforts for Mentoring Alliance across public and private funding opportunities, collaborating with the VP of Development, program leadership, and account owners to craft compelling, compliant proposals that align program deliverables with investor (donor) priorities.
  • Grant Administration Manages the full grant administration process by developing and maintaining a prioritized grant submission calendar, coordinating early planning with program and development leadership to assess feasibility, communicating requirements to internal stakeholders, tracking awards and deliverables, and ensuring timely submission of grant applications and required funder reports.
