About The Position

Affinitiv is looking for a Graphic Design Intern with an understanding of basic design principles and a strong desire to learn. The Graphic Design Intern is responsible for providing support for the design team through a variety of channels including print and digital. The Graphic Design Intern will report to the Art Director. The internship program offers hands-on experience in the art department of a full service (traditional and digital) advertising agency. This internship is for outgoing, hardworking individuals who want to pursue a career in advertising. After completion, the intern will have an understanding of basic design principles, print layouts, web design and pre-press procedures as well as an understanding of advertising and how to make an impact in the world of marketing through design and illustration. Professional skills developed through the 9-week program: Ability to manage time and schedule. Ability to develop relationships and confidence with facing retailers, field, and corporate team members. Capacity to handle numerous tasks and objectives from multiple stakeholders. Understand the needs of the client and organization; deliver results based on objectives. Sharpen your presentation skills by delivering an end of program presentation to your team on your project work, results, and key-take-aways of your internship experience. Requirements

  • Matriculated student, GPA 3.0 or higher preferred
  • Currently enrolled in a Graphic Design or related degree or certification
  • Rising Junior or Senior
  • No work experience necessary
  • Light experience working with the following software:
  • Proficient in latest version of Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Microsoft Suite of Products
  • Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts
  • Fast learner who can take feedback to adapt design style and graphics
  • Adaptable able to work in a very fast paced environment, meeting tight deadlines and client required timelines
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Make editorial changes to marketing campaigns.
  • Immerse yourself in communication and manage all of it (teams, emails, work, etc).
  • Constant inter-departmental communication through the agency.
