About The Position

Dynamic Design Development Creates engaging graphic materials to market the College of Education to diverse and varied audiences. Develops templates, promotional materials, logos, iconography, social media graphics, presentations, and printed materials within the branding guidelines and style of College materials. Provide guidance and creative leadership for the College of Education in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Operations. Team Collaboration and Project Management This position assists the Assistant Director of Operations, Assistant Director of Communications, and the Assistant Director of Education and Training Programs with all promotional projects and collaborates with videography, communications, and instructional design staff to deliver completed design assets as directed. Communicates with internal and external clients to ensure deliverables are completed effectively and efficiently. Provides leadership to OPS and/or student designers on the team, assigning work and providing design feedback. Creates and maintains exemplary design guidelines for College-related materials and branding. Research and Planning Review and compare the design and materials of the College to high-quality designs of other academic institutions. Research best practices and plan projects while staying abreast of new design technologies, programs, trends, and standards. Maintain knowledge of ADA compliance in design, ensuring that all materials meet the requirements of the University and College. Provides leadership in promoting emerging best practices for design for collaborators, clients, and OPS designers. Photography Attend and photograph various College events. May also assist with the photography of faculty, staff and students. Take photos that are visually appealing for promotional and marketing materials, staying knowledgeable about the branding standards for photography on a University and College-wide level. Applicants must be knowledgeable about framing photos, post-photoshoot editing and optimizing images for web and/or print. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Operations, Senior Director of Operations, and the Dean and Associate Deans of the College.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Graphic Design, Arts, or Business Administration from an accredited educational institution
  • Proven experience for creating dynamic graphics for print and web
  • Experience working in Adobe Creative Suite products, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, and XD
  • Experience using professional photography equipment
  • Knowledge of accessibility for website and graphic design products, familiarity with ADA requirements
  • Extensive work in layout applications like Adobe InDesign, familiarity with CMYK color models
  • Experience designing print material for marketing and promotional events
