About The Position

When the sun goes down, our warehouse comes alive. Pallets move, trucks unload, and a dedicated team works together to make sure every store starts the next day fully stocked. In this role, you’ll guide night operations with confidence, compassion, and a steady hand. Lead, coach, and support an overnight team made up of employees of all abilities, ensuring everyone has the skills they need to succeed. Manage all core warehouse operations, including receiving, replenishment, picking, staging, and outbound loading. Oversee employee scheduling, adjust staffing based on call-outs, and ensure coverage across all warehouse functions. Manage and track employees’ nightly case‑count KPIs, provide coaching when targets aren’t met, and communicate key performance updates to leadership. Interview, hire, and train new team members, including facilitating a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience. Handle employee relations matters professionally and escalate issues to HR when appropriate. Maintain full compliance with food safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies while ensuring the warehouse remains clean, organized, and safe throughout the shift. Step in as a stocker, custodian, or general warehouse associate when the team needs an extra set of hands. Day in the Life of a Commissary Project Manager: Begin the shift by reviewing nightly goals, and leading a quick huddle to set expectations, assign work zones, and reinforce safety. Supervise the team throughout the night, offering coaching, addressing concerns, and supporting onboarding and cross‑training to maintain strong morale and productivity. Oversee product flow from receiving to the floor, ensuring timely unloading, accurate stocking, proper rotation, organized back‑stock, and prompt replenishment of high‑demand items. Manage break schedules, conduct quality and safety checks, and escalate inventory discrepancies, damages, or hazards to the appropriate leaders. Wrap up the shift with a clean, organized, compliant warehouse ready for the next crew.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years of warehouse or distribution center experience, ideally in grocery or food-handling environments.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory flow, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Ability to support and lead team members of all abilities with patience, clarity, and respect.
  • Ability to interpret KPI data, case counts, and overall shift performance metrics to guide decision‑making.
  • Basic understanding of OSHA safety practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid Real ID
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.
