About The Position

The Ground Security Coordinator (GSC) is responsible for the implementation, oversight, and enforcement of the Foreign Air Carrier Air Operator Standard Security Program (FACAOSSP) during aircraft ground operations. The GSC serves as the primary on-site security authority and ensures that all security measures are properly executed prior to aircraft departure.

Requirements

  • Completion of TSA-required GSC/FACAOSSP training.
  • Recurrent TSA security training.
  • Airport-issued security identification badge (SIDA or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of aviation security regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and implement a TSA-approved security program.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently to maintain an organized environment and use all resources available.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and monitor aircraft for extended periods.
  • Ability to respond promptly to security incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce all applicable FACAOSSP requirements at the station level.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for security matters during ground operations.
  • Ensure aircraft are secured at all times while on the ground.
  • Control and monitor access to aircraft doors, cargo compartments, and restricted areas.
  • Ensure screening of persons, baggage, cargo, and property using TSA-approved methods.
  • Apply, inspect, verify, and document aircraft security seals.
  • Escort and monitor non-cleared personnel such as maintenance and cleaning crews.
  • Identify and respond to security incidents and irregularities.
  • Notify TSA and company security management as required.
  • Maintain accurate security documentation including seal logs and incident reports.
  • Ensure no aircraft departs unless all security measures are verified.
  • Exercise authority to delay or stop operations due to security non-compliance.
