GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Grounds Maintenance Manager of High Associates Ltd. is responsible for the supervision and upkeep of all industrial and commercial properties owned by High Properties and related partnerships and assigned to this division.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience managing and/or leading teams.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct training and education programs to better develop maintenance skills of the team.
  • Ensure that corporate safety policies and programs are communicated to and adhered by all employees within the group.
  • Review JSA’s annually, Drive to Zero information turned in monthly, and complete all action plans in accordance with annual Safety Audit.
  • Maintain work force at adequate staffing levels.
  • Perform onsite inspections of properties and with the recommendation of the Operations Manager determine when sub-contractors or company work force must be utilized.
  • Ensure that safety policies are adhered too by both employees and third party contractors.
  • Approve all invoicing, timesheets, landscape and snow contracts, and all other associated paperwork for daily, weekly, and annual operations.
  • Make recommendations and prepare for management approval, all operating budget and Capital expenditure requirements for the department and is accountable for operating within the approved budget.
  • Manage and maintain, with Director and Operations Supervisor, all landscape maintenance and snow removal pricing and contracts for all associated High and third-party properties.
  • Coordinate snow removal activities by determining subcontractors annually and setting routes.
  • Create and maintain, for the Asset team, an annual Beautification List for landscape projects.
  • Supervise, the Fleet Lead Mechanic, to ensure maintenance and service of all vehicles and equipment will be in safe, good working, and attractive condition.
  • Process all work requests and make assignments to accomplish objectives.
  • Work with subordinates towards achieving company and corporate goals, make recommendations for wage increase for subordinates and conduct employee 1-1’s and annual evaluations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and learn about procedures and technical aspects of the position or tasks.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area.
  • Attend required training/educational courses as specified by supervisor and company.
  • Have the ability to look beyond your written job parameters for department and company benefit. "Think outside the box".
