About The Position

Responsibilities include creating operational and safety procedures for the care and maintenance of the property’s exterior features (plants, shrubs, trees, landscaping, irrigation systems, fences, benches). Managing staff selection, training, correction, and assigning work assignments, ordering supplies and equipment, and monitoring department expenditures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Oversee Grounds operations including staffing, project scheduling, inventory of equipment, tools, supplies, vehicles, department records, contracts, safety, site fire prevention and project delivery. Ensure site care and maintenance of grounds, drainage maintenance, fire protection, and irrigation systems. Work and provide direction and setup for special events. Oversee horticultural care including pest control, fertilization and agronomy, plant care, tree care, problem identification, solving and communication Ensure property aesthetics and standards are upheld. Manage staff including hiring, training, coaching, counseling, evaluating and coordinating Team Members’ work assignments. Provide and promote ongoing job training and skills-building/improvement for team. Motivate and encourage the team to participate in career advancement opportunities. Manage and negotiate contracts and direct projects: prepare work scopes, track project costs, and ensure project quality control guidelines are followed, as well as safety and regulatory compliance. Review, enforce and coach on operational safety and training. Oversee staff safety training and maintenance of regulatory compliance documents. Manage, review and enforce operational safety, training needs with department and contractors. Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual reports regarding operations, projects, make recommendations for capital expenditures for equipment, repairs, grounds improvement, maintenance updates, staffing, and expenses. Expected to respond to emergencies at all hours.

Requirements

  • HS DIPLOMA
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in professional grounds/landscaping field
  • Demonstrated landscape management, maintenance and construction experience including experience with sustainability programs
  • Deep knowledge of landscape construction standards and techniques commeasure with public gardens, higher education, and/or similar institutions
  • Proficiency in standard business software
  • Must be 18+ years old and be available for all shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass a drug test and background check for an AZ Gaming License
  • Must adhere to all Cliff Castle Casino Hotel policies and procedures
  • Must be committed to providing exceptional guest service through a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment
  • Aim to exceed guest expectations with attentive, personalized service and prompt responses and resolution
