About The Position

These positions assist UW Stout’s grounds department with their landscape projects. Duties will include spreading of mulch, raking, shoveling, planting, mowing, spraying weeds and other duties as assigned. Candidates need to be able to lift over 50lbs frequently and be able to work outside in all kinds of weather. Work hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. This is a $16.00/ hour 40 hour per week seasonal position that runs from May 18th through August 29, 2026.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• Candidates need to be able to lift over 50lbs frequently
• Candidates need to be able to work outside in all kinds of weather

Responsibilities

• Installs, propagates, and maintains the health of new and existing plants and landscape using a variety of vehicles and equipment
• Maintains clean and clear lawns, walkways, roadways, and parking lots to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice
• Implements and monitors chemical and fertilizer programs
• Identifies and acts to remedy plant diseases and insect damage
• Constructs lawn and landscaping projects including soil grading, seeding, and sodding
• Spreading of mulch
• Raking
• Shoveling
• Planting
• Mowing
• Spraying weeds
• Other duties as assigned
