Our departments and operating businesses have autonomy and place a high value on meritocracy, with a commitment to providing individuals with opportunities for growth and development.  Job Summary: As the Group Editorial Director, you will be a visionary leader responsible for overseeing the editorial strategy and execution across a portfolio of our B2B media brands within a specific group or market segment. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, relevant, and engaging content that serves our audience's needs, drives engagement, and supports the overall business objectives of each brand. You will lead, mentor, and inspire a team of editors and content creators, fostering a culture of journalistic excellence, innovation, and strategic thinking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive editorial experience in B2B media, publishing, or a related content-driven industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role overseeing multiple brands or a large editorial team.
  • Experience with event management including live presentations and speaking roles, from agenda development to on-stage presentation.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful content strategies that have driven audience growth and engagement.
  • Strong understanding of digital content best practices, including SEO, social media strategy, and web analytics.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and editorial workflow tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, events, product).
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for industry events, conferences, or internal meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Editorial Strategy & Vision: Develop and implement a cohesive editorial strategy for an assigned group of brands, aligning content initiatives with audience needs, market trends, and business goals (e.g., readership growth, engagement, lead generation, event attendance).
  • Event Management: Lead the development of key brand events, plan topics and agenda, secure speakers for keynotes and panel discussions, and moderate panels on stage
  • Content Excellence & Innovation: Ensure the consistent production of high-quality, accurate, insightful, and engaging content across all formats (digital, print, video, podcasts, events) for the assigned group of brands. Drive innovation in content delivery and storytelling to maintain market leadership.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Managing Editors, Senior Editors, and other editorial staff within your group. Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  • Audience Engagement & Growth: Oversee strategies to grow and engage the audience for each brand within the group, utilizing analytics to understand content performance, audience behavior, and emerging interests.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Event teams to develop integrated content solutions that meet advertiser needs, support product launches, and drive event success.
  • Budget Management: Manage editorial budgets for the assigned group of brands, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost-effective content production.
  • Industry Representation & Thought Leadership: Serve as a thought leader and key representative for Endeavor Business Media within the relevant industry sectors. Attend industry events, build relationships with key opinion leaders, and stay abreast of market developments.
  • Editorial Standards & Best Practices: Ensure adherence to the highest journalistic standards, ethical guidelines, and best practices across all content produced by the group. Implement and refine editorial workflows and processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Competitive Analysis: Continuously monitor the competitive landscape within your group's market segments, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to content and audience engagement.
