Don’t just take a job; embrace the chance to be part of something extraordinary! We are seeking a Group Fitness Coordinator who is passionate about movement, connection, and supporting healthy aging. The ideal candidate has experience confidently leading group fitness classes of 10–15 participants and brings warmth, patience, and enthusiasm to every class. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys working with seniors and older adults, understands the importance of adapting exercises to meet individual needs, and creates a welcoming, encouraging environment for our independent living residents. Experience with aqua fitness/ water aerobics is preferred, although not require, as we are happy to train a motivated candidate who is eager to learn.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience leading group fitness classes with 10–15 participants
  • Certification in group fitness, personal training, or related field preferred
  • Preferred experience working with seniors or older adults
  • Preferred experience teaching aqua fitness classes or willingness to learn
  • Strong communication and motivational skills
  • Ability to create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging class environment
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and adapt programming as needed
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with residents, families, and staff. Must use sound judgment, works well under pressure and possesses strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safe, engaging group fitness classes for residents, typically with 10–15 participants
  • Modify exercises to accommodate varying fitness levels, mobility, and health considerations
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate fitness programming focused on strength, balance, flexibility, and cardiovascular health
  • Instruct or assist with aqua fitness classes (training provided if needed)
  • Monitor participants during classes to ensure safety and proper technique
  • Build positive relationships with residents, encouraging participation and consistency
  • Collaborate with wellness, recreation, and life enrichment teams
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fitness and pool environment
  • Document attendance and report any concerns related to resident safety or participation
