Essential Duties and Responsibilities In addition to performing general machinist duties, you will: Oversee production and employees in assigned area of the Machine Shop Ensure that production schedules are met and that all machines are running at maximum efficiency Monitor a team of machine operators and provide training and guidance as needed Ensure that all safety procedures are followed and that all machines are properly maintained and repaired as needed Monitor inventory levels of materials and tools used in the machine shop and order supplies as needed Collaborate with other departments to coordinate production schedules and ensure that deadlines are met Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the production process and implement corrective action as needed Maintain records of production and quality metrics and report regularly to management Identify opportunities for process improvement and work with management to implement changes Perform first piece inspection Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Several years of experience in machine operation and maintenance, with experience in a supervisory role preferred Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate with team members and management Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to machine operation Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities Proficient in the use of tools and equipment commonly used in machine shops Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics Strong organizational and time-management skills Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet production schedules Kaman is an equal opportunity employer.
