About The Position

We are hiring a Group Product Manager, B2B APIs to define and scale our next‑generation API ecosystem — powering seamless integrations with retailers, enterprise partners, and external developers. This role is a work from home position and can be performed remotely anywhere in the continental US or in our corporate office in Draper, Utah. YOU ARE: A strategic product leader responsible for defining the API product vision, enabling developers and partners, and driving execution across engineering and business teams. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY: Retail Operations owns external, retailer-facing APIs, workflows and onboarding experiences, while the API Platform team owns the underlying programmatic access and extensibility that enable those experiences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years product leadership experience in B2B SaaS, platforms, payments, fintech, or API-focused roles.
  • 3+ years leading products involving technical integrations (SDKs, APIs, plug-ins).
  • Strong understanding of REST, OAuth, API keys, cloud technologies, and CI/CD.
  • Proven ability to define and communicate strategic roadmaps.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Platform Strategy & Leadership Define the 3–5 year vision and roadmap for Progressive’s API platform, aligned with company strategy and future platform growth.
  • Own the API product portfolio and prioritization across internal and external consumers.
  • Act as the primary product authority for Progressive’s API platform.
  • API Product Ownership Lead the end-to-end API lifecycle including discovery, design, development, launch, versioning, and deprecation.
  • Establish and own API governance, including design standards, documentation quality, security practices, and lifecycle policies.
  • Ensure APIs are intuitive, secure, well-documented, and easy for partners and internal teams to adopt.
  • Partner & Retailer Enablement Partner closely with Retail Operations, engineering, sales, and customer success to enable retailer integrations at scale.
  • Understand retailer technical constraints and integration friction, translating those insights into scalable platform capabilities rather than bespoke solutions.
  • Build and maintain reusable integration standards, best practices, and developer enablement resources.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, security, compliance, legal, analytics, marketing, and go-to-market teams.
  • Partner with risk and compliance teams to ensure APIs are designed for regulated fintech environments.
  • Support enterprise and strategic partnerships with technical diligence and platform storytelling.
  • Metrics, Reliability & Continuous Improvement Define, track, and optimize KPIs such as API adoption, usage, latency, error rates, reliability, and partner satisfaction.
  • Participate in incident reviews impacting partners and drive product-level improvements and roadmap adjustments.
  • Continuously refine the platform based on data, feedback, and business outcomes.
  • People Leadership Manage and mentor product managers responsible for individual APIs or platform surfaces.
  • Establish product management standards, rituals, and best practices across the API portfolio.
  • Develop PMs to own day-to-day execution while this role focuses on platform strategy, governance, and scale.
