Forward FinancingBoston, MA

About The Position

As the Group Product Manager (GPM) for Salesforce, you will be the strategic architect of Forward’s core operational engine. You won’t just manage a backlog; you will own the vision for how Salesforce enables our mission to fund small businesses faster and more reliably. Leading a team of Product Managers, you will treat Salesforce as a premier internal product—balancing the needs of Sales, Underwriting, and Customer Success with the technical integrity of our global org. You will partner with DevOps and Platform Engineers to ensure our infrastructure is as agile as our business, overseeing the strategic evolution of our ecosystem to support massive scale.

Requirements

  • Leadership Experience: 10+ years of relevant technology experience, with at least 5+ years in a Product Management leadership role (managing other PMs).
  • Salesforce Expertise: Extensive experience building products within the Salesforce ecosystem. You should be deeply familiar with Salesforce’s capabilities, limitations, and the modern "well-architected" framework.
  • Fintech Fluency: Experience in financial services or a high-volume transactional environment is highly preferred.
  • Agile Mastery: Expert in applying agile methodologies to highly dependent, coupled projects crossing multiple workstreams.
  • Technical Literacy: A technical degree (Computer Science or Information Systems) or equivalent deep "under the hood" experience with Salesforce development cycles (CI/CD, Sandboxes, Unit Testing).
  • Strategic Communication: Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment on major investments and organizational changes.

Responsibilities

  • Define the Vision: Develop and drive the high-level product strategy and technical roadmap for the Salesforce platform, ensuring it aligns with Forward’s aggressive growth goals.
  • Lead & Mentor: Manage a high-performing team of Product Managers, providing the coaching and framework necessary for them to execute on complex workstreams.
  • Optimize the Ecosystem: Lead the strategic configuration of Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Financial Services Cloud integrations) to ensure it remains a competitive advantage for internal teams and channel partners.
  • Bridge the Technical Gap: Act as the primary liaison between executive leadership and technical teams (Engineering/DevOps), translating business "whys" into technical "hows."
  • Master the "Buy vs. Build" Balance: Lead rigorous due diligence on third-party AppExchange integrations versus custom Apex/LWC development to ensure long-term platform health.
  • Drive Data-Driven Decisions: Define and leverage complex KPIs (e.g., lead conversion velocity, system uptime, user adoption) to prioritize the roadmap and report progress to the C-suite.
  • Evangelize the Platform: Build deep trust across the organization, acting as a champion for Salesforce best practices and educating stakeholders on the power of the platform.
