About The Position

The Group Reservations Manager leads and oversees all group reservation operations within the Groups & Conventions department. This role serves as the strategic point of contact for Meeting Planners and Convention Services Managers, ensuring flawless execution of all reservation-related components of group business. The manager is responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining contractual compliance, optimizing room block performance, and fostering strong internal and external relationships. What the Group Reservations Manager is not: A replacement for the Convention Services Manager. Requirements

  • Strong command of Opera and Marsha
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and make strategic decisions.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and customer-centric approach.
  • Flexibility to adjust working hours based on hotel events and operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end management of group room blocks, ensuring accuracy, compliance with contractual terms, and timely execution of all reservation requirements.
  • Establish and maintain operational standards, workflows, and performance expectations for the Group Reservations team.
  • Oversee the integrity of data entry and system usage across platforms such as Opera and Marsha
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Sales, Convention Services, Front Office, and other operational departments to ensure seamless group execution.
  • Lead and participate in key meetings including pre-conferences, group fact sheet reviews, pick-up analyses, and post-event evaluations.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with Meeting Planners, ensuring proactive communication and exceptional service delivery.
  • Manage VIP arrangements, upgrades, special requests, and rooming list requirements with precision and attention to detail with Conventions Department.
  • Monitor pick-up trends, room block performance and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Recommend process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and continuous feedback to Group Coordinators and other team members.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate learning opportunities related to systems, procedures, and customer service.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture aligned with hotel standards.
  • Weekly meeting with Conventions Services
  • Attend weekly One of One meeting with DCS
  • Full management of the group room blocks
  • Attend pre-con meeting and Group Fact Sheet meetings
