About The Position

Vertiv is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support in the development of its global thermal rating tool. In this role, you will be working in a scrum team of diverse engineers, developers and product owner located around the world to build a web-based product configurator and thermal calculation tool. You will be the first contact point for AMER region support and daily operations, and will be contributing to global development according to planning and prioritization. This position will be based onsite at Vertiv's Westerville, OH - Polaris location.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and developing .Net C#, SQL, Angular 2+
  • Demonstrated deep understanding and proficiency with data modeling, OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, clean architecture, Unit Testing and .Net core framework through extensive work experience
  • Extensive experience in analyzing code for weaknesses and errors, and overseeing plans to improve them
  • Hands-on experience in building scalable applications with patterns such as Domain Driven Design, Test Driven Development, or Command-Query
  • Practical knowledge of strategies for software performance optimization, security, scalability, and extensibility
  • Experience with CI/CD including Git and Azure DevOps
  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies and practices
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a responsible team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to users and internal customers
  • Discuss new requirements and provide directions and guidelines for specification development and related documentation
  • Establish a detailed program specification through discussion with Sw architects and Developers
  • Lead design verification testing phase as proof of concept
  • Work as part of a team in a global, multicultural environment.
  • Review existing solutions, identify deficiencies in design, and implement fixes
  • Follow industry standard best practices and design principles to build a maintainable and scalable code base
  • Conduct regular code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards
  • Apply urgent bug fixes in case of blocking issues
  • Support development team in releasing and testing new functionalities
  • Prioritize and understand urgency and importance of new requirements
