About The Position

The Guest Services Representative provides support to the staff, patients and family members. This position provides proactive service, hospitality, information, way-finding and helps visitors and patients to locate resources. The Guest Services Representative personifies the Values of Respect for Life, Compassionate Concern and Joyful Service. This position conducts rounds in waiting rooms, inpatient rooms, Emergency Department and Outpatient and Surgery areas to identify needs and to address complaints that arise. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Monday – 7:00am – 3:00pm – in Endoscopy area Thursday & Friday 6:00am – 4:00pm working in Ambulatory Surgery. Both areas are specialty areas, and they have specific duties they do for each area. These areas are for patients coming in to have procedures done. They help take care of the family members while the patient is back having their procedures done. They take the family back and forth to the area where their loved one is prior to surgery and they make sure to keep them updated with any information shared while there loved one is having the procedure done. Once the procedure is complete, they make sure to get the family in a consultation room for the physician to come and speak with the family. They must keep up with where families are located to get them in the consultation room quickly. They round on the families in the waiting area making sure they are good and do not need anything.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years Customer Service

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Monitor inventory needs for required department equipment and supplies; place orders to maintain appropriate inventory levels, as required.
  • Oversee the work of volunteers, providing ongoing guidance and training to ensure quality of service.
  • Provide customer service by greeting and actively helping visitors who need assistance with transporting and wayfinding.
  • Deal calmly and courteously with upset or difficult visitors.
  • Solicit grievances and complaints from patients and family members on quality of service; act as a liaison between the patient and the department assists in resolving all concerns.
