Join AWS as a Cloud Hardware Development Engineer to support the development of next-generation cloud infrastructure hardware. Drive innovation in complex PCBA designs utilizing state-of-the-art FPGA SoCs, working with world-class engineers in our dedicated product development lab. Within Bespoke Solutions, the Refactor hardware development team empowers Region Services teams by eliminating reliance on external vendor constraints. This position requires that the candidate selected must be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI with polygraph level. Upon start, the selected candidate will be sponsored for a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in motherboard design, PCB design including schematic capture, stackup and circuit board layout
  • Experience with DFx (Design for cost, test, manufacturing)
  • 3+ years of hardware engineering experience
  • Experience with FPGA SoC hardware integration, hardware validation and debugging

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of hardware engineering experience
  • Expertise in signal integrity and power integrity analysis and PCB design tools (Allegro, Altium, or similar)
  • Experience with high-volume manufacturing and NPI processes
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret / SCI (or higher)

Responsibilities

  • Development of complex PCB designs incorporating FPGA SoCs
  • Support system-level hardware architecture decisions and technical requirements
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) processes with contract manufacturers
  • Develop and validate high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuits
  • Ensure designs meet EMI/EMC compliance, thermal, and signal integrity requirements
  • Partner with FPGA/firmware teams to define hardware interfaces and requirements
  • Participate in design reviews and drive technical consensus across multiple teams
