About The Position

Hardware Electrical Engineer Wavetronix seeks a full-time hardware electrical engineer with solid knowledge in circuit design, theory, and operation including strong PCB design skills. Hardware engineers are vital members of our team and work on major development projects for new and existing products. The hardware engineer will work alongside other talented engineers to design, implement and test electronics hardware. The successful candidate will have the ability and desire to complete the following goals: Within 90 Days: Develop an understanding of current Wavetronix products and assigned projects. Demonstrate desired technical proficiencies by working closely with existing team members on assigned work. Show an understanding of standard tools and processes used by the team. Year 1: Become a major team contributor to the development of hardware design. Show expertise in one or more areas of project development. Demonstrate skill at working with team members and collaborating with other teams that are working on related projects. Beyond Year 1: Develop a deep understanding of Wavetronix hardware systems and vision for future development. Demonstrate an understanding of existing product’s hardware sufficient to debug, test, maintain, and update it. Envision and suggest new or different ways to improve system performance, maintainability, quality and ease of use. Participate in efforts and projects as assigned

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Electrical OR Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years experience working in electronics hardware design
  • Design of circuit boards, components, schematics, and layout for Hardware Interfaces Power Management Microcontrollers, processors, and memory Networking Interfaces Sensors Other electronics circuits and sub-systems
  • Prototyping, soldering, debugging, and troubleshooting
  • Experienced with designing for and meeting compliance requirements (CE, FCC, UL, etc.)
  • Collaboration in manufacturing/production environments
  • Understands the needs of firmware teams and able to cooperate with them on design needs
  • High personal motivation, a strong work ethic, and high standards for personal and team results
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to take ownership for projects and tasks
  • Able to work with a team, share work, coordinate efforts, and communicate effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with embedded firmware
  • Experience leading small teams of engineers
  • Experience with source control, unit and system testing, and product lifecycles
