About The Position

Odyssey is seeking a Hazardous Materials Specialist 2 position to support the The Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton (NAMRU-D) in Dayton, OH. NAMRU-D's mission is to maximize warfighter performance and survivability through world-class aeromedical and environmental health research by delivering solutions to the field, the Fleet, and for the future.

Requirements

• Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
• Clearance: Secret (Able to Obtain)
• Education: Associate Degree or higher level degree in waste management, industrial hygiene, occupational and environmental health, safety sciences, or related field required.
• Years of Experience: 2 years of relevant experience in hazardous material, hazardous waste, and industrial hygiene programs.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the NAMRU-D Unit Environmental Coordinator and Chemical Hygiene Officer with responsibility for all hazardous materials (HAZMAT) and hazardous waste (HAZWASTE).
• Serves to keep NAMRU-D in compliance with the Installation Hazardous Material Plan and environmental compliance requirements.
• Maintains HAZMAT and HAZWASTE databases and documentation pertaining to all HAZMAT and HAZWASTE operations.
• Conducts physical inventories of HAZMAT.
• Provides applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), HAZMAT, and HAZWASTE training to NAMRU-D staff members.
• Proficient with computer software, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suites programs.
• Experience with OSHA, HAZMAT, and HAZWASTE compliance requirements.
• Must have excellent interpersonal, oral communication and written skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of Installation Hazardous Material Plan and environmental compliance requirements.
