Job Description Follow all health, safely, and environmental requirements; Perform cleanup duties; Perform material handling and storage duties; Identify, use, and care of common hand and power tools; Use and care of craft specific tools and equipment; Knowledge and application of craft related mathematics; Knowledge and use of safety standards and best safety practices relevant to rigging, Inspection of rigging equipment and hardware; Knowledge and application of common hitches, Emergency stop signal, Basic crane hand signals, Knot tying (bowline & clove hitch), and use of rigging equipment relevant to craft specific tasks; Responsible for setting, maintaining and removing lane closures and other general support operations. Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) refers to the acticities and provisions made to establish temporary conditions to keep travel ways and paths safe during road construction, maintenance, or utility work.; Work with supervision and crew members to create work zones, providfing related transportation management, and temporary traffic constrol on streets and highways, right-of-way, etc.; Both day and nights shifts are required for MOT.; Flagman controls the flow of traffic around road construction sites, and directs all vehicles around the site(s). Directs and controls traffic flow using regulatory signs and traffic control equipment.; Communicates with other construction personnel and motorists in order to keep the flow of traffic moving safely and smoothly.; Places cones or other light barriers, and construction signage, to direct flow of traffic.; Uses hand signal communication as needed to divert or control traffic.; Establishes, monitors, and moves/re-establishes as necessary, traffic travel zones, and then retrieves all cones and flags following completion of work.; Assist construction crew with set up and breakdown of construction activity/site.; Monitors and controls access to the worksite from pedestrians and motorists.; May record license numbers of traffic control violators and reports all incidences to immediate supervisor.; Responds quickly to changes in the work environment in order to maintain safety.; All other duties as assigned.
