About The Position

SUMMARY\: To provide for the routine operation and minor maintenance of university vehicles in the transportation of materials or passengers. This is a contract position through UTMB Healthcare Systems Staffing. This role does not include UTMB benefits, with the exception of the 401(k) retirement plan offered through Healthcare Systems Staffing.

Requirements

• One year of related experience required.
• Completion of defensive driver course within 30 days of hire.
• Must possess current Texas Class "C" driver's license, and a clean driving record.
• Delivery driver experience is preferred.
• Equipment Operation of vehicles, including trucks or vans.
• Lift and move heavy objects.
• Drive vehicles under adverse weather conditions and have the ability to cope with emergency driving situations.

Responsibilities

• Transfer patients and other assigned passengers on and/or off campus, assisting them in entering and exiting vehicle.
• Deliver and/or retrieves materials as instructed.
• Assists in the loading and unloading of materials from vehicle.
• Maintains daily log of mileage, number of trips, passengers/cargo, destination, and fuel and oil consumptions.
• Inspects condition of assigned vehicle on a regular basis with regard to oil, fuel, tires and water.
• Reports any needed adjustments or repairs to supervisors.
• Adheres to internal controls established for departments
