Girls Wrestling Head Coach Position Summary The Head Coach of Girls’ Wrestling is responsible for launching, leading, and overseeing all aspects of the girls’ wrestling program. Beyond technical instruction, the Head Coach is expected to integrate the school’s Catholic mission into the athletic experience, fostering an environment of "Champions for Christ" where sportsmanship, discipline, and faith intersect. Key Responsibilities 1. Mission & Spiritual Leadership Model the values of the Catholic Church and the school’s charism both on and off the mat. Lead the team in prayer before practices and competitions. Cultivate a culture of dignity and respect, emphasizing the empowerment of young women through sport. 2. Program Management Plan and execute daily practices that cater to a range of skill levels (from beginners to advanced). Oversee the safety and well-being of all student-athletes, ensuring strict adherence to weight management and hydration protocols. Manage the program budget, equipment inventory, and uniform distribution. 3. Mentorship & Recruitment Actively recruit student-athletes within the school to grow the burgeoning sport of girls' wrestling. Collaborate with the Admissions and Marketing departments to promote the program to prospective families. Provide guidance on collegiate opportunities for athletes wishing to wrestle at the next level. 4. Administrative & Compliance Ensure all athletes meet academic eligibility requirements. Maintain clear communication with parents regarding schedules, expectations, and team policies. Comply with all MSHAA rules and school athletic department policies.
