About The Position

Southwest High School is seeking a qualified diving coach to provide effective leadership for the Swim/Dive program. Good communication and organizational skills are required, as well as the ability to develop positive, productive relationships with student-athletes, parents, and the community. Must be able to provide quality instruction of fundamental skills, as well as have a comprehensive knowledge of the sport of Swim/Dive. The successful candidate must be able to lead and enhance the ongoing development and improvement of the program. Be responsible for inspecting and maintaining the inventory and equipment; reporting contest results; and must know, implement, and enforce national, state, and local athletic policies. A strong belief in the value of education-based athletics is critical, as is an emphasis on the importance of the student-athlete. Requires teacher and/or coach who holds a Nebraska Department of Education Teacher or Administrative Certificate or a Nebraska Department of Education Special Services Coaching Permit. This position is subject to a veterans preference. Posted until filled.
