To provide an atmosphere that promotes the development of skills necessary to allow student athletes to participate at a competitive level. To provide a program that is an extension of the overall academic program at Tennessee Middle School. To provide a program that emphasizes academics, discipline, high morals, and team play. To provide a program that builds a strong foundation that will prepare our student athletes to become productive citizens. To provide a program that promotes integrity and sportsmanship and teaches student athletes to be aware that doing the right thing is more important than the outcome of a game. To provide a program that promotes work ethic, “Viking Pride,” and a competitive nature. PERSONAL EXPECTATIONS To be a person of high moral character and integrity. To be loyal to the administration of Tennessee Middle School and Bristol Tennessee City Schools. To represent Tennessee Middle School and Bristol Tennessee City Schools in a professional manner when dealing with students, parents, community members or other schools. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Evaluate and formulate an improvement plan for the overall Tennessee Middle School Football program. Provide supervision of student-athletes involved in Tennessee Middle School Football. Coordinate all practices and game day activities. Promote Tennessee Middle School Football in both the school and the community and serve as the spokesperson in the area of public relations. Work cooperatively with school staff, student-athletes, and parents in promoting Tennessee Middle School Football. Work cooperatively with coaches of other sports to ensure the overall success of Tennessee Middle School Athletics. Work cooperatively with the Tennessee High School Football coaches to promote an overall football program in Bristol Tennessee City Schools. Maintain and oversee the safety conditions of all dressing rooms, facilities, and equipment. Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved. Enforce the code of conduct and expectations for the Tennessee Middle School Football program. Perform such duties as may reasonably be assigned by the athletic director. Ensure accident reports/injury reports are submitted to the athletic office in a prompt manner. Coordinate the development and implementation of the off-season strength and conditioning program. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 25lbs.
