Silverado Resort is a top-ranked, year-round golf facility, with 36 holes of championship golf. In addition to being top golf destination in Napa Valley’s wine country, Silverado is home to Club Members and residents. The Club has very active men’s and women’s leagues, a strong junior golf culture, and a warm, community-oriented membership. As Silverado continues to grow the club seeks a leader who will elevate the golf experience while honoring the culture and history that makes the club special. POSITION OVERVIEW The Head Golf Professional is responsible for all aspects of the golf operation, delivering a consistently high-quality experience for members and guests. This leader oversees daily operations, tournaments, leagues, instruction, merchandising, and staff leadership. They serve as the visible, hands-on ambassador of golf—building relationships, creating memorable experiences, and fostering a welcoming environment for players of all ages and skill levels. The Head Golf Professional reports directly to the Director of Club Operations and works collaboratively with the Agronomy team, committees, and seasonal staff.

Requirements

  • PGA Class A Professional
  • Previous experience at a private club or high-quality public/semi-private facility in a leadership role.
  • Strong tournament management, customer service, and merchandising competencies.
  • Demonstrated teaching background with juniors, recreational players, and competitive golfers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure an exceptional, friendly, and seamless golf experience every day.
  • Greet members, engage regularly, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Manage tee sheets, pace-of-play practices, and practice facility standards.
  • Provide consistent professionalism on the course, in the golf shop, and throughout the club.
  • Lead all men’s, women’s, couples, and junior league operations.
  • Plan, promote, and execute tournaments with accuracy, enthusiasm, and polished presentation.
  • Offer lessons and clinics for all ages and abilities.
  • Grow instruction programming, including beginner clinics and advanced player coaching.
  • Lead and expand the junior program, fostering passion and long-term engagement.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate golf shop and outside services teams.
  • Build a positive, team-first culture emphasizing professionalism and hospitality.
  • Provide daily coaching, skill development, and service-standard reinforcement.
  • Assisting in preparing, managing, and monitoring the annual golf operations budget.
  • Maintain accurate reporting for rounds, sales, events, and instruction.
  • Work collaboratively with the Agronomy team to align course activity and agronomic needs.
  • Communicate effectively with the membership through email updates, notices, and league/tournament information.
