About The Position

The City of St. Peters is seeking a motivated and experienced Head Group Coach to lead and support swim team training at the Rec-Plex natatorium and the City's outdoor aquatic facilities beginning June 1. This position is responsible for leading swim team practices, developing workouts, and supporting the growth and development of swimmers across assigned training groups. Working under the direction of the Head Swim Coach, this role helps ensure a safe, organized, and positive environment for swimmers, coaches, and families while supporting the continued success of the City's swim team program.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker
  • High School graduate or GED equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Must be a current USA Certified Swimming Coach or obtain certification within 30 days of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years of swim coaching experience
  • Experience leading swim team practice groups or competitive training programs preferred
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's license valid in the state of Missouri

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise assigned swim team practice groups
  • Develop and implement structured swim workouts and training plans appropriate for swimmer skill levels
  • Assist with coordinating swim team practices, instructional programs, and related activities
  • Support the supervision, training, and development of assistant coaches and instructors
  • Promote a positive, encouraging team environment that supports swimmer growth and sportsmanship
  • Assist with swim meet preparation, team events, and related activities
  • Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and coaching staff regarding practices, expectations, and program updates
  • Maintain safe conditions within aquatic program areas and ensure compliance with City safety standards
  • Stay current with aquatics, coaching techniques, and industry best practices
  • Attend swim team meetings and assist with administrative and coaching responsibilities as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
