What you’ll do: The Brass Tacks Managing pool preparation and closing tasks, including clean-up, washing/sanitizing, equipment storage, arranging furniture, and securing equipment as needed. Daily water and chemical management, monitoring heat and ensuring cleanliness of the pool. In partnership with the Club Facilities Manager, oversee and ensure proper working condition of the pool equipment and maintaining sufficient inventory of chemicals. Training, supervising, and scheduling seasonal lifeguards. Point person for pool rentals, lessons, water aerobics, lap swim, and other UBG&CC programs. Coordinate with: Member Services Director for public swimming lessons and arranging for private lessons with UB lifeguards. The Director of Water Sports for South Whidbey Parks and Recreation to plan and organized their (limited and contract stipulated) use of our facilities. Director of Racquet Sports to facilitate and monitor racquet sports court reservations, ball machine use, activities on the courts including tennis programs, bocce tournaments, and other activities on the lawn. Member relations, including communication of guidelines and restrictions, promoting recreation activities, maintaining smooth operation of check-in area, ensuring accurate account charges and a positive member experience. As supervisor of the pool staff, be positive, enthusiastic, and supportive. Lead from the center, be solution-oriented and practice good communication. Report issues for resolution or opportunities for improvements and enhancements of the recreation amenities to the Director of Member Services and General Manager for consideration. Ensure the pool and pool area is safe, clean, and organized at all times. The Nitty Gritty Must be available to work during pool operation hours, including through South Whidbey Hish School graduation. Current Red Cross Lifeguarding or YMCA Lifeguarding certification. Current Red Cross First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Rating preferred. Skill in basic swimming strokes, including but not limited to breaststroke, crawl stroke, side stroke and elementary back stroke. Ability to communicate effectively with members, co-workers and management. The Pool Lead is responsible for ensuring that all opening and closing tasks are completed regularly. Ability to confidently enforce Club policies with tact and professionalism. Don’t meet every single requirement?
