About the position

The Head of Communications will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that enhance the reputation, visibility, and strategic objectives of the company across global markets. As a key leader within the organization, this role requires a seasoned communications professional with a strong background in corporate communications, public relations, and media relations, combined with the ability to influence senior leadership and shape the company's narrative across multiple channels and platforms. This individual will work with a global team to build and protect the company's brand, improve stakeholder relationships, and guide crisis communications efforts. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in the technology sector, an understanding of global market dynamics, and a passion for fostering clear and effective communication strategies in a rapidly evolving industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a global communication strategy that supports the company's business objectives, brand positioning, and reputation management across all markets.
  • Partner with senior leadership to define key messaging, corporate goals, and critical initiatives that require communication support.
  • Identify opportunities for proactive communication to position the company as a leader in the technology space, driving both thought leadership and brand awareness.
  • Lead efforts to strengthen and protect the company's brand and reputation globally, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Oversee the development of corporate content (press releases, executive speeches, internal communications, etc.) that conveys the company's mission, vision, values, and key initiatives.
  • Act as the company spokesperson in media interactions, including interviews, press conferences, and public speaking engagements.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, influencers, and analysts within the technology and business sectors.
  • Lead the planning and execution of media outreach campaigns to generate positive press coverage, raise awareness for new products or services, and manage company announcements.
  • Manage and monitor media coverage and public perception, providing senior leadership with regular updates on media sentiment and brand reputation.
  • Develop and lead crisis communications strategies to mitigate risk and protect the company's reputation during times of crisis, controversy, or unforeseen events.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, ensuring that communication during critical situations is transparent, timely, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Manage media inquiries and develop crisis communication materials, including press statements and FAQs.
  • Partner with the executive leadership team to develop and deliver impactful communication strategies that promote thought leadership and build executive visibility.
  • Support executives in creating speeches, presentations, and key messages for internal and external audiences, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and strategic direction.
  • Identify opportunities for executives to participate in speaking engagements, interviews, and panels to raise the company's profile and showcase expertise.
  • Oversee the development and execution of internal communication strategies that foster an engaged, informed, and aligned workforce.
  • Collaborate with HR, leadership, and other departments to ensure internal messaging is consistent with external brand values and corporate culture.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication of key company initiatives, updates, and changes to all employees.
  • Lead the company's digital communication strategy, ensuring a strong and consistent presence across social media platforms, the company website, blogs, and other digital channels.
  • Monitor online conversations about the company, respond to customer or media inquiries, and ensure alignment with the company's overall communications strategy.
  • Use data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of digital and social media communications, adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global communications team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
  • Provide strategic guidance to direct reports and cross-functional teams to achieve communication goals and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Set performance goals, track progress, and ensure the continuous growth and professional development of the communications team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including investors, partners, regulators, and customers, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
  • Work with the investor relations team to craft messaging for investors and analysts, including quarterly earnings reports, press releases, and other corporate disclosures.

Requirements

  • Master degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 13/15+ years of experience in communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in corporate communications, ideally within a global technology or IT services company.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing communications for a global brand and navigating complex communication challenges.
  • Experience managing crisis communications, public relations campaigns, executive communications, and digital media strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the technology landscape and the ability to communicate complex technical topics to various audiences.
